Memory · autonomous systems · misalignment of media

The satellite keeps solar time, the tides keep lunar time. The island has no fixed size.
Mediterranean memory as an autonomous system: material and digital layers of preserving, losing and rewriting.
Svetlana Fenster is a multidisciplinary, Cyprus-based artist working with memory as an active system rather than a static archive. Her practice explores how fragile materials transform, endure and function independently of human participation.
With a professional background in IT, Fenster integrates technological thinking into material artistic practice, working with the logic of systems, autonomous processes, and functional architectures. She uses ceramics, textiles, drawing, digital media, and environmental data to investigate what allows forms to persist and operate over time.
